FAQs:

The DrNB in Interventional Radiology is a 3-year super-specialty training program recognized by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS). It focuses on developing advanced procedural and diagnostic expertise in minimally invasive image-guided therapies, combining radiologic science with clinical decision-making.

Applicants must hold an MD or DNB in Radio Diagnosis from an NBEMS or NMC-recognized institution. Admission is through the NEET-SS (Super Specialty) examination conducted by NBEMS.

Trainees receive hands-on exposure to a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures under expert supervision. This includes vascular and non-vascular interventions, oncologic procedures, image-guided biopsies, embolization techniques, and endovascular therapies performed using cutting-edge imaging technology.

The curriculum integrates research-based learning, with opportunities to engage in clinical studies, device trials, and case-based publications. Fellows participate in academic discussions, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and national conferences, gaining exposure to the latest advancements in interventional radiology and oncology.

Graduates can work as Consultant Interventional Radiologists in tertiary care hospitals, cancer centers, and academic institutions. The qualification opens doors to roles in vascular and neuro-interventional practices, oncologic imaging, academic research, and advanced procedural training in India and internationally.
