Overview:
HCG – Suchirayu College of Nursing B.Sc. nursing graduate programme is a 4 year full-time programme that includes eight semesters. This program prepares eligible B.Sc. nursing graduates to practice nursing in diverse settings in government/public or private healthcare settings. This program follows the credit based system and semester system as per CBE Authority rules and regulations. The program consists of basic science courses, nursing core courses and electives. Modular learning also is integrated in basic science as well as nursing core courses which is mandatory for all the students.
Knowledge acquisition related to wellness, health promotion, illness, disease management and care of the dying is core to nursing practice. Mastery of competencies is the main focus. Students are provided with opportunities to learn a whole range of skills in addition to acquiring knowledge related to nursing practice.
This will be achieved through learning in skill lab/simulated lab and clinical environment. Simulation will be integrated throughout the curriculum wherever possible and feasible to enable them to acquire competencies before entry into the real world of practice.
The revised curriculum incorporates competency-based and outcome‑based approach in all courses of the programme that are based on mastery learning and self‑directed learning principles. Educational orientation is primarily transformational and relationship based. Students develop their thirst for knowledge, reasoning ability, appreciation for science, and use of evidence in practice that translate into care. A select group of competencies that mirror the practice standards of the Council based on competency‑based, outcome‑based practice for registered nurses, placed emphasis on cultural diversity competence; competence in communication technology; collaborative practice and teamwork and professionalism; safety and quality in care; therapeutic interventions; and; evidence-based practice. They are prepared to provide safe and competent care for patients across life span and impact on patient outcomes.

- Attain 17 years of age by 31st December of the year of entry.
- Candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English papers individually in 2nd PUC/10+2 and must have secured a minimum of 45% aggregrate marks in PCB (40% for OBC/SC/ST).
